Xilinx helps Evertz accelerate time-to-market and provide customers with field upgradability

Xilinx Inc. announced today that Evertz Microsystems, a leading provider of dynamic digital video (DV) equipment for the film and television broadcast industry, chose Xilinx Platform Virtex FPGAs to deliver its latest portable digital to analog converter for HDTV. Evertz chose the Xilinx Virtex family of FPGAs for their high-performance DSP capabilities and field upgradability. Evertz is one of many DTV manufacturers utilizing Xilinx FPGAs to gain a competitive advantage in digital video and broadcast equipment applications.

“Field upgradability is a must for professional broadcast equipment, especially when you consider how important it is to stay on top of all the evolving standards in digital video,” said Rakesh Patel, senior design engineer at Evertz Microsystems Ltd. “Xilinx Platform FPGAs offered the time-to-market benefits required to get our new products into the hands of customers in record time.”
